Spring Herald

Spring Herald, You wake us up into Your breathtaking beauty! Oh, how words are bursting from within me and into my pen. You warm us up with the daylight sun, melting the icy places in our hearts. You invite us into the splendor of Your presence. We are left speechless and in awe. You are magnificent to behold!

As we bask in Your glory, keep us constant in Your ways. May we continue to sing the songs You put in our mouths just as You feed us and the birds singing in the air. When others whine and complain about the slush and the mud, may we take their hands to skip and dance to the beat of our hearts that You never fail to keep in tune. Let us go through this day with You by our side, seeing the sparkles in our day--- the delight of being alive.

When hectic calls, calm us. Bring us to a safe place, a refuge found in You. Divert our attention from ringing phones, endless chatter, restless noise. Invite us to teatime with You. May we find ourselves speaking words of courage, hope and cheer--- painting our world with beauty like the words You spoke this world into being... and every spring.

And as You span the heavens with stars tonight, help us to NEVER forget to thank you for all these and more. May we rest with a smile knowing that the fragrance of spring is near. Restore us. Bring to life what has been put to death deep within us. Revive us. Wake us up tomorrow with an ache to know You more. Help us to grow in Your beauty and in grace towards others. May our lives bring delight, a manifestation of Your creative power in us.

Spring Herald, come!

Amen.

Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death,
that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father,
even so we also should walk in the newness of life.
Romans 6:4

He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God.
Many people will see this and worship Him. Then they will trust on the Lord.
Psalm 40:3
